Dantastic Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 Totally new to this site and Hotwire/Priceline. 3 friends and myself are taking a trip to Chicago on 05/07-05/11. Would prefer to stay in Michigan Ave location. Hotwire currently has rooms on 3.5* for 160 (NMA-Water Tower) and for 187(Mag Mile-Streeterville). My 2 questions: Are those prices decent enough to take? And which hotels are common for those areas? Any help would be appreciated!-Dan

Dantastic Posted March 29, 2011 Author Report Posted March 29, 2011 Leisure trip to Chicago with 3 friends from May 7th-May 12th. Have been watching the past few weeks and Hotwire hasn't had anything special. Would I still be able to risk waiting another couple weeks before making a reservation or would that not be a good idea? Worth trying priceline? I've never used them before.Looking for help from someone who can give an educated guess. Thanks a lot!And of course ALWAYS use hotwire/PRICELINE links from this page!

Dantastic Posted May 2, 2011 Author Report Posted May 2, 2011 In hotel searching for the nights of Sunday 05/7 through 05/9 I ran into "lastminutetravel.com." The rates they show can't be touched by Hotwire or any other booking site right now. Is this too good to be true? They have a Hotwire approach to selection, but they show photos? I'm searching for those 2 nights for 3 people. They seem to have the Palmer at $153 and Hotel 71 at $136. On other sites these are running much higher. Are those legit prices? I wasn't too sure where to post this or if this site supports it. Was just curious as to how they have such low prices in comparison to others. Thanks for any help you may have!-Dan
dahammer Posted May 2, 2011 Report Posted May 2, 2011 I assume this if for your Illinois trip? Lastminutetravel.com is legit, I stayed at the Red Roof Inn about 6 months ago in Chicago and saved a bunch of money since most of the downtown hotels were sold out. BTW, I recently stayed at the Hotel 71 through an American Airlines package and would absolutely return. The hotel was going through a floor by floor renovation and the location can't be beat. Very accessable to public transportation, I took the Blue line from the airport and walked a few blocks. Took the #3 bus that runs along Michigan Ave. to attend a trade show at the McCormick Place as well.
Dantastic Posted May 2, 2011 Author Report Posted May 2, 2011 Yes for a Chicago trip sorry about that. Thanks a lot for the help! With them being so much lower than the others I had to get some input on it. Maybe I'll give 71 a shot as being able to easily use the public transportation is very nice
Dantastic Posted May 3, 2011 Author Report Posted May 3, 2011 A good majority of them are, but there are plenty of good rates that say available.
