AaronJB Posted March 27, 2011 Report Posted March 27, 2011 Congrats on your success. :)Great deal for this property! I actually think this is a very nice property and I'd be eager to stay here again (I also got it for relatives who enjoyed it.) The outside of the property is underwhelming at best, but I think the interior of the hotel is actually quite nice - pleasant rooms/public spaces. The restaurant uses fresh ingredients, partially grown behind the hotel in a garden (although it's certainly way too cold now for anything.) The IKEA is a block North and the cafe at Ikea on the top floor offers a lot of good options for cheap. There's also a Barnaby's Pizza nearby, as well as a number of other options. There is a coupon on the website (http://www.barnabysschaumburg.com/coupons-specials.php) I haven't tried that location, but I like the Barnaby's at another location (it is a small local chain that has been around forever and has kind of become an institution.) There's a ton of malls and other restaurants in the area, as well.I actually think this is a nicer Hyatt than the 4* Hyatt downtown on Wacker.Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay.
nkcutter Posted March 28, 2011 Author Report Posted March 28, 2011 Thanks for the info. Sounds like you know Chicago.I am now wanting to add a day on the front for 5/6, but only for 2 of the rooms. I bid up to $44 to no avail, but I still have time. I low-balled it because I see that hotwire is showing a 3.5 star in the area for $42, and thought it could be same hotel.
