I'm looking for a 4* Hollywood area hotel for Fri 3/25 only. I've bid $100 and $125 on Priceline- both rejected. Any idea what's available and how high I need to go? Thanks.

Rates are high on 3/25. W is $359 and Roosevelt $279.

Hotwire has a Hollywood 4* (looks like Roosevelt) for $203. Priceline usually beats Hotwire on price.

My guess is your bidding needs to be more in the $135-170 range for this expensive night. You've got some rebid zones you can add if you want to bid higher than you already have without waiting 24 hours.

Please use this PRICELINE link for your bidding and let us know how it goes, or ask if you have other questions.

If you're not familiar with re-bidding please see this thread: Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask any questions you may have (HINT: you have THREE re-bid zones available when bidding 4* in this area... feel free to confirm them if you're unsure)

Also, as this is getting a little up in price, i'd also look at the Beverly Hills-West Hollywood zone to see if that would work for your plans at all, as adding another zone amy be able to save you a few dollars by having more hotels available to accept your bid. Adding another zone will also give you more bidding and re-bid opportunities.

Let us know regarding the additional zone, if you understand re-bidding, and your maximum bid... we'll then suggest a strategy for you to follow.

Thanks for the advice. I stopped my bidding at $160, so Hollywood looks off limits Friday night for 4* without paying pretty much full price. I opted for a hidden hotel deal on Travelocity for Universal City for $137 and got The Sheraton. Not The W, but one Red Line stop from Hollywood.

Glad to see you found something which works well for your needs... sounds like this should still work well for your needs.

Do you recall the amenities which were showing to be associated with this property?

If you didn't, please note from our support page that we're an affiliate of Travelocity, please check for and use the links there for your purchase.

Enjoy your stay.

As there are only two 4* hotels in Universal City, I was confident it would be either the Hilton or Sheraton- so amenity tracking wasn't necessary. One of the benefits of Travelocity is that they will separate out Universal City specifically in their geos on the hidden hotels.

While I love Priceline, I'm afraid I would end up out at Burbank Airport- part of their geo. Hotwire is even worse, throwing Glendale in the mix.

FYI-Earlier advice of adding Beverly Hills/West Hollywood to the Priceline Hollywood Geo is great, but you could end up with a $40 cab ride from Hollywood. I always keep the Red Line in mind.

Thanks for the feedback.
