xyzzy.bid Posted March 23, 2011 Report Posted March 23, 2011 Sorry the Post Subject should read $47 at the end. Also don't know what happened to the dates in the Post Subject. 3/26/11 - 3/27/11 for dates. Just won a different hotel then the last few times for Mt Laurel. Started at 40 for four stars then added 3 1/2 star and finally when to 3 star at 47 and won the Doubletree Guest Suites Mt. LaurelI wonder if Doubletree still has cookies when you check in? I used the PRICELINE link to bid. Sorry the Post Subject should read $47 at the end. Cheers

xyzzy.bid Posted March 30, 2011 Author Report Posted March 30, 2011 When I checked in at Doubletree Guest Suites Mt. Laurel I was informed by the hotel clerk that since I used priceline if I wanted a non-smoking room there would be a charge of $10 which I agreed to under protest. I don't think the hotels should use bogus add on charges just to priceline customers. Whats next charging Priceline customers to use the elevator or for towels? The Hotel was no where full and had lots of available rooms. Just because I was smart and used priceline I was singled out for a $10 non-smoking room charge. I am not even sure if that is legal in most states. I also was forced to pay an up charge from a king to a two double room. At the other hotels I have stayed at in this area both the Hyatt Place and Residence Inn if they had the two double available I would get it for no up charge. If you get this hotel on a bid expect some up charges reserved only for priceline customers. Paid $47 + 17.25 for the night. :)
AaronJB Posted March 31, 2011 Report Posted March 31, 2011 Sorry to hear that the experience was negative. Being charged for a no-smoking room is definitely something I've never heard of (being charged for a room with two beds instead of one bed is common, but the difference in rate between the two rooms is posted; I've never seen a hotel charge more for a no-smoking room) and I would highly recommend writing PRICELINE to let them know what occurred.
