krlbrgmnn Posted February 28, 2011 Report Posted February 28, 2011 Hilton Oceanfront ResortHilton Head Island23 Ocean Lane Hilton Head Island, South Carolina 29928 843-842-8000Won on first try, since there was only one chance for a re-bid (using Bluffton, who has no Resorts). I'm rather surprised to have been able to still get this apparently baseline price for this hotel at this time of the year. I know it isn't high season yet, but the weather in SC is turning rather consistently nice now, so I'm wondering about their not having altered at least their weekend pricing. Hope the predicted sunny, warm weather holds for this 3-day next weekend.Comps: Hotwire is showing a 4* @ $77/nt with the following amenties (which doesn't appear to correspond to any known property on the BB list): Resort, Fitness, Pool, Restaurants, Business Center, Laundry, High-Speed Internet, Golf NearbyHilton's own website shows best possible rate @ $157/nt.Used BB's PRICELINE link to start my bidding process.
AaronJB Posted February 28, 2011 Report Posted February 28, 2011 Congrats on your success. Excellent deal for this Hilton property! Hope the weather will hold up! :)Thank you for sharing your win and using the site's PRICELINE link.Enjoy your stay.
krlbrgmnn Posted March 14, 2011 Author Report Posted March 14, 2011 Update: I was surprised to find, upon check-in, that the "parking (resort) fee" had been reduced to $10/nt for self-park and $13/nt for valet. I recall that a few years ago, it was $12 or $13/nt even for self-park. Perhaps this is Hilton's contribution to economic stimulus. Anyhow, slightly better news for BBers. The fee itself, according to the Hilton receipt, is actually comprised of $9 to Hilton Oceanfront Resort and $1 to the HHI Chamber (of Commerce?, I assume).
