lew Posted April 22, 2005 Report Posted April 22, 2005 thereuare --I'm looking at Vegas for 7/4 weekend. Normally I go midweek and get good rates directly from the hotel's websites or from email offers. I need to be on the strip (MGM to TI is fine). I understand Pl and Hotwire will be a waste. What consolidators, if any, are worth looking at. I have a major problem using easyclicktravel I keep getting an error site not found. I disabled popups and even put the site in my trusted zone.
thereuare Posted April 22, 2005 Report Posted April 22, 2005 What are the actual dates of your stay?Have you tried out new Las Vegas Rate Checker?EasyClickTravel is excellent but i don't know why you're having issues with their site.Quickbook can also be good. lew Posted April 22, 2005 Author Report Posted April 22, 2005 Probably July 2-5. I've used quickbook for FL and NY, I didn't realize they were good for Vegas. I may just wait a month and see if anything opens up. I'm a "low roller" but I sometimes get some decent email specials. If we were going during the week I'd use PL for the Venetian but can't work our vacation schedules. I'll be using SW RR tickets so flights won't be a problem.I didn't like your Vegas checker. I'll use it again so I can tell you why. I think it didn't have enough hotels and it didn't lay out on my screen very well.If I'm going to try PL I may post a follow up to get some ideas but I doubt PL will be any better than going direct.
thereuare Posted April 22, 2005 Report Posted April 22, 2005 RE: The Vegas CheckerWe should be adding more hotels over time, this is just a start. You can improve the layout by selecting fewer hotels on a search, or even just one hotel per search. Even selecting one hotel per search is a time saver as you don't need to to go each hote's website individually and/or re-input your dates at each website. lew Posted April 22, 2005 Author Report Posted April 22, 2005 OK only doing 3 works better. I don't know the programming involved but most of the Vegas hotels have a calendar you can request that shows the available rates for every night. It would be nice if I could select a month and have the calender for each resort come up.
thereuare Posted April 22, 2005 Report Posted April 22, 2005 If you look at the INSTRUCTIONS (linked on that tool page as well) you'll see that the calendars are also available by clicking "CHECK PROMOS" instead of "check dates". The other issues you had regarding screen layout are addressed in the instructions as well. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
lew Posted April 25, 2005 Author Report Posted April 25, 2005 Sorry for not reading the instructions. Glad I didn't make such a major faux pax on the "other board", of course prior to being banned.
