diddle333 Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 I started bidding on a 4* in downtown Philly on priceline. I'm up to $100 and that bid was rejected too. Is there something happening that weekend?
AaronJB Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Rates do seem moderately higher than normal on this particular date; not sure what's going on - maybe a convention. What would be your desired max budget for the night?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
diddle333 Posted January 31, 2011 Author Report Posted January 31, 2011 Ideally I would want to pay below retail, taxes included, for the cheapest 4* in the area. Right now the retail rate is $160 or so for the Hyatt in Penns Landing. On Hotwire the cheapest 4* is $151...looking at all the forums I'm pretty sure that hotel is the Hyatt in Penns Landing. I was hoping to use price line to beat that price. I could take my chances with a 3.5, but I rather not.On another note...$110 was also rejected.
AaronJB Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 If there is something going on during these dates and hotels are expecting walk-ins, a 4* win may take $115-125.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
dahammer Posted February 1, 2011 Report Posted February 1, 2011 Is there something happening that weekend?Yes, Philadelphia Funk Fest is going on and features: War, The Ohio Players, and the Bar-Kays just to name a few.....
