thereuare Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding!I think i'm following your hotel bidding strategy but i also think it can be improved upon... exactly which zone(s), and star ratings, are you willing to accept; and what is your maximum bid at each star level? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
dougimus Posted January 15, 2011 Author Report Posted January 15, 2011 thereuare- I would prefer to just find something in the 3 star + range in SF like the actual downtown part itself. I am not sure if my bids are not being accepted because I am looking at things over two months in advance. I would prefer the Wharf but that seems hard.
thereuare Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 Exactly which zones, by PRICELINE name, are you willing to accept? Are you willing to pay more for a 4* vs. a 3.5* vs. a 3* OR is your goal the least expensive 3* or better? At this time, what is your maximum bid at each star level? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. dougimus Posted January 15, 2011 Author Report Posted January 15, 2011 Ultimate goal is to find least expensive 3 star of better. Zones would be Civic center, Fisherman's Wharf, Marina, Nob Hill, Financial District, and Union Square East. Realistically I would like to spend no more than about 75 on a bid since I am trying to stay about 500-550 on 4 nights stay and airfare for two.
thereuare Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 Ultimate goal is to find least expensive 3 star of better. But to confirm... you haven't yet bid the 3* level, correct? You've only bid for 3.5* or 4* thus far. Also to confirm... you prefer a less expensive 3* vs. a more expensive 3.5*? (as that doesn't appear to be consistent with how you've been bidding)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Colfax Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 I would like to spend no more than about 75 on a bid since I am trying to stay about 500-550 on 4 nights stay and airfare for two.Since you need both airfare and hotel have you searched Priceline Vacation Packages? In the Vacation Package product you can view hotel names prior to purchase but the rates are discounted, more like "Name Your Own Price" rates. It's the best of both worlds....you get a lower rate without having to take potluck on a "mystery hotel".
