Dustin Jones Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 Hello,I couldn't find any 3* hotels listed that don't offer a free shuttle, so I wasn't sure what this one could be. Thanks in advance for your help! This hotel features the following amenities:Complimentary BreakfastFitness CenterBusiness CenterLaundry FacilitiesHigh-speed Internet Access
yellowdog Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 Yes, this is a tricky one!I'm sorry to say that a 3* property with this amenitie combo has not yet been reported/ID'd to the board. But a guess would be that this hotel is the Best western JFK without the shuttle icon listed. Please use the site's HOTWIRE link, and let us know how it goes or if you need any additional help with your stay.Yellowdog.PS. Please follow-up this thread with whatever you end up doing, even if you chose to book direct, cancell your trip, etc.
dahammer Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 I couldn't find any 3* hotels listed that don't offer a free shuttle, so I wasn't sure what this one could be. Thanks in advance for your help!Note that a Shuttle amenity does not guarantee that its free, some hotels may charge for this service. Also, its possible that this hotel has a shuttle, but may have omitted this amenity with its HOTWIRE listing in an attempt to make it more opaque.
thereuare Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 Is a shuttle a requirement for you for this stay? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Dustin Jones Posted January 11, 2011 Author Report Posted January 11, 2011 Thanks for all the information! The shuttle is not a requirement, but would be nice. I checked the regular rates for the Best Western and they are very close to rate given on Hotwire, so not much of a discount. Additionally, on this same date is a 2* with Airport Shuttle, Complimentary Breakfast, Business Center and High-speed Internet Access that is listed for $59 and is probably the Days Inn JFK and on the Days Inn website it is listed for $68, but without the Hotwire fee is just a few dollars difference in total cost - also not a great deal. The last one is 2.5* with Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness Center & Business Center for $60, which seems to fit the Fairfield Inn (with complimentary breakfast and not the restaurant) and would be a great deal, but I'm so scared of getting the International JFK Airport Hotel that I'm sure I can pull the trigger on that one. Let me know if you want me to start a new thread on the 2.5*, I may go for that one. But for now, I'm going to pass on the 3*. Thanks again for all your input.
AaronJB Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 If there's a regular rate deal of interest, REVIEW5 or ORBITZ5 should work for 5% off on Orbitz.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE, PRICELINE or Orbitz links and for keeping us updated.
dahammer Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 HOTWIRE's JFK zone extends all the way up to Jamaica Avenue and these properties could possibly be the Quality, Comfort, Clairon, or LaQuinta Inns.
thereuare Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 The Fairfield Inn has not yet been reported to the board under this brand (it was reported as a win by its previous owner) but i'm not that confident that this is likely the Fairfield Inn... this offering shows a 3.5/5.0 Tripadvisor rating where the current rating of the Fairfield Inn is 4.0/5.0 (although note that this information is not update in real time by HOTWIRE... so this difference doesn't exclude the Fairfield Inn, but does make it less likely)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Dustin Jones Posted January 12, 2011 Author Report Posted January 12, 2011 I ended up just going with the 2* JFK, which was the Days Inn. Not a great deal, but I had a $20 Entertainment Book coupon that I wanted to use, so the total cost was $59 after the rebate. Let me know if I should create a new thread for this one or how I can edit the existing title of this thread. I used your link to book the hotel - thanks for all the help.Days Inn JFK (2*)Hotel Address: 14426 153rd Ct,HotelCityStateZip: Jamaica, NY, 11434Amenities :Airport ShuttleComplimentary BreakfastBusiness CenterHigh-speed Internet AccessRate per night:$59.00Sales Tax:$7.35Occupancy tax: $5.87Hotwire Fees:$6.92Trip total:$79.14
