edarte Posted April 10, 2005 Report Posted April 10, 2005 Delayed in posting this info - sorry.Actually placed/won bid back on April 3rd.Looking for 9 nights between April 15 & 24.Had initially considered returning to my usual hotel Marriott/Courtyard downtown which I have been very happy with but rate has gone up quite a bit to $189 Cdn.Heard about this bidding strategy so thought I would give it a try.First selected 4* downtown only area at $50 and was turned downUsed strategy and added 2nd area (Don valley) that only has 2 & 3 starsUpped bid to $55 and got the Toronto Sheraton Centre! As I am formally from Toronto I am familiar with this hotel. When I lived there it was great. Assume reason it comes up on Priceline so often is just because they are more aggressive at filling rooms and are rather large.Look forward to a pleasant stay and these savings. Thanks for the great advice.Ed
