thereuare
What time is your flight? Unless it is very early in the morning i would advise against this property...It's pricing at $125/nite on my search and if a blanket statement could be made, most of the hotels in this area are less than desirable... as evidenced by this hotel's fairly low 3.0/5.0 Tripadvisor rating. Summer is low season in NYC and unless there is a major event taking place, you should be able to get a very nice/very decent hotel directly in Manhattan for about this same price or just a few dollars more.Let us know regarding your flight time and we'll then consider your best options. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. tonymc
Flight out of JFK is 08:40 on BA hence the reason for wanting to stay close to the Airport, plus we have a rental car that we will be returning the previous evening and don't particularly want to have the expense of an additional two cab fares into Manhattan. Thanks for your help, very much appreciated, and a Happy Christmas to you all. dahammer
This is a bit of a guess since a hotel with this amenity combination has not been reported, but with the Tripadvisor rating of 3 out of 5 and the Non-Smoking amenity plus a 3.5* rating, I believe this could be the Sheraton.Good Luck! sophielaura
We usually travel back from JFK to UK on the 8:40 flight each August and in the past used Holiday Inn Express which is a good hotel. This year price went up due to US Open, so booked via Priceline. Was cheaper than Hotwire and we got Hilton Garden Inn - see our review on here and Trip Advisor. Also note, not a lot to do around JFK at night. We always dump car early and head into City, via train from Jamaica, real cheap and quick into Penn Station. Link to comment

The lack of stuff to do around JFK in the evening shouldn't be a problem as we will be driving back from Boston on the day we are stopping over at JFK, possibly calling in at one of the Premium Outlets en-route for (hopefully!!) some last-minute bargains, so don't expect to be arriving at JFK until mid-evening. Also hoping to drop car off that evening as well so that we can get the shuttle straight to the terminal in the morning. Link to comment
tonymc
Just to let you know that I eventually booked the Hampton Inn JFK (after finding consistantly good reviews about it) through one of the UK websites for approx $105. Thanks again everyone for your help. Link to comment
