mcgervey Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 Not real pleased with this win. Good for the money. Would have preferred the Courtyard. This property has become pretty dumpy for a 3* HI. Pool area is not well maintained, hot tub reeked/stunk and water was discolored... took 4 requests and a half hour to get towels to the pool, rooms are substandard based on more modern 3* hotels. Did not accomadate king bed request, despite this same hotel doing numerous times in past. Front desk worker not very good, unprofessional, ignored guest while doing something else in computer, then answering phones, without even saying hello or otherwise stating she even knew I was standing there. No bellhop/bellboy, no even offers of other service assistance (not that I would want any, but)...This hotel has seen much better days in so far as quality and service.I recall having a few good meals there, but this was a trip I was so disgusted with the quality of amenities and guest attention, services, I couldn't wait to leave, lest I chew people out.Lady that eventually, after 30 minutes, brought towels to myself and my freezing daughter, a second before I was about to go down to the front desk dripping wet with an upset child, said no one from the front desk had called for towels (despite me requesting 3 or 4 times).Maintainence worker that just happened to come into area stated that the discoloration was from the chemicals. NOT.. nor was the stink. I own a 500 gallon Royal Spa, and have owned hot tubs and pools. That thing was unsanitary, and should have been shut down as a health hazzard. The pool, also, was freezing... My daughter wouldn't leave the steps area, and I wouldn't have let her anyway because she is 2.5, and I wasn't getting in (and I can handle a lot of cold water some people can't.. not that pool)... It's a shame, because we used to enjoy this hotel, and it is a nice BIG old style hotel pool with 10 foot deep end, (that used to have a diving board once upon a time), and a large outdoor patio area. Most people that have seen/read my past comments on hotels will note that I am NOT that hard to please, and I will RARELY gripe at a hotel and/or staff. This hotel deserves it.If I get this hotel ever again, I might need to go up to 3.5* as my minimum for the Airport area, and/or bid more, accordingly. Priceline should downgrade this property.Holiday Inn Pittsburgh Airport Pittsburgh Airport (PIT)8256 University Blvd Coraopolis, Pennsylvania 15108 412-262-3600See Hotel Website View Map and Directions Check-In Date:Mon, Sep 6, 2010 / After 03:00 PMCheck-Out Date:Tue, Sep 7, 2010 / 11:00 AM Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $35.00 Subtotal: $35.00 Taxes & Fees: $12.21 Total Charges*: $47.21
