mcgervey Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 First bid 3*, $50, again trying for Embassy or Marriot, which I prefer, failed.no areas to add for Charleston...Second bid 2.5*, $50, failed.Third bid, 2*, $40, expecting HI-E or Best Western, success.Thankfully it appears the Charleston House Holiday Inn has been removed from Priceline. It had been listed as a 3*, which was insulting and ridiculous, and I made many complaints to Priceline. I would rather stay at the 2* HI-E than the Charleston House at any stars, which has been let to become a DUMP, and then tries to charge you $7 for parking.Nice property, great breakfast, great breakfast lady, nice lobby and public spaces, no pool, decent rooms though a tad dated (older tvs, etc, no fridge). King beds hard to come by under request, and rooms with two beds are doubles, not queens.Conveniently located downtown, ample parking, friendly staff.
