hello Posted November 18, 2010 Report Posted November 18, 2010 I am bidding for 2/25 and 2/26/11.I have bid up to $115 using up all my bids and still rejected.Even on Hotwire it shows that hotel for only $142.The median average shows $164I've been trying for almost 6 weeks now.HELP!!
Romelle Posted November 18, 2010 Report Posted November 18, 2010 You've got over three months yet. I'd suggest you make a cancelable back-up reservation and then just bid every week or two to see if you can find a better deal. With the back-up reservation secured, bidding won't be so frustrating and nerve-racking. I'd guess something in the range of your $115 bid will be successful eventually. The 3 1/2* Radisson is going for $155 on the retail side of Priceline does suggest that. On the other hand, Hotwire for your dates shows a 4* for $219, and a 3 1/2* for $195. Since Hotwire can be a little more generous with its ratings, what you might get for a 3 1/2* Priceline bid may be closer to the 4* Hotwire. One usually can find a little lower rates via Priceline bidding, but the Hotwire rates do suggest you simply might have to bid higher or consider the 3*s. I still wouldn't bid to your max this far out though. Romelle

soona99 Posted November 19, 2010 Report Posted November 19, 2010 I'm having the same problem trying to get 2 rooms for a Friday night January 7th. As a backup I was able to get the Radisson for $117 using AAA rate. I'm also bidding over $100 without a nibble for 3 1/2 stars.
