soona99
I used the PRICELINE link here to bid $78 for 2 rooms 3 1/2 stars in region 8 San Juan. The bid was rejected so I need advice as to how to rebid. I've used priceline several times over the years and I always forget how to rebid. :)Are the 2 rooms messing things up?Thank you. soona99
My max would probably be $150 but if I have to pay that I probably should go for resort. I've rebid Ponce, Dorado and Rio Grande. I'm up to $85 with no luck. I'm not sure which are to rebid next. Also, does it cause a problem (i.e. you have to pay more) if you're bidding on 2 rooms? thereuare
Two rooms is usually not an issue, but if it does have an effect, it's usually to the downside. (but it can often take more than $85 to win a 3.5* in this area so i suspect it's more of a budget issue than the number of rooms)Before bidding further, i'd strongly encourage you to confirm your re-bid zones with the board... RIO GRANDE is NOT a re-bid zone. While this zone doesn't contain any 3.5* properties, it does contain resort class properties, and your 3.5* bid could always be upgraded to a Resort if you include this zone.At what price point would you consider switching from a 3.5* to a Resort class property? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. soona99
Obviously I'm confused even after reading the instructions. I will try again from scratch tomorrow starting at a higher bid so what would be the zones I can re-bid for a 31/2 star? Link to comment
thereuare
Let's try to break it down...1) Use the PRICELINE search box on the upper right of this page, enter San Juan and your dates, and click "GO".2) List each zone that is offered in this region. 3) Next to each zone list the highest star rating offered in the zone. The way to determine the highest tar rating offered n the zone is by selecting the first zone i the list, then scrolling down to see the highest star rating selectable (ie- not greyed out). NEXT UNcheck the selected zone, place a checkmark in the next zone, and repeat the process for each zone in the region. Each time you take note of the highest star rating in the zone, make sure that only ONE zone is selected above.4) post your findings and we'll take it from thereIf you don't follow the above just post back and we'll break it down further. soona99
I've tried several different days using 4 rebid zones and going up to $105 per room. Any thoughts? Link to comment
AaronJB
If your bids are not getting accepted, unfortunately there is no inventory at that price point. You can either choose to:Continue bidding higher little-by-little.Wait and try again in a week up to the point you've bid up to so far to see if any new inventory has been added. However, the concern with waiting is that if this is a busy period, rates could go up further in the meantime.Try to see if a lower star rating will accept a cheaper bid.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. soona99
I won the San Juan Water and Beach Club several days ago while bidding on 3 1/2 stars on January 7th. I was unhappy about this because I read the hotel is undergoing major renovations. To my surprise, Priceline emailed me yesterday saying because of these major renovations I could cancel the reservation. They also sent me a $10 voucher to use on another bid. My question is-what if I end up with this same hotel again?? Do they take it off the program if they're having to offer refunds? Link to comment
thereuare
The Water and Beach Club is now currently rated 3* by PRICELINE, so if you stick with 3.5* or higher you shouldn't win this property. (assuming it remains rated 3*)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
