Oboy Posted April 5, 2005 Report Posted April 5, 2005 Hi,First of all, some information. I found a Downtown LA 4* hotel with spa on Hotwire for 5/29-6/2/05 for $118 per night. It appears that this would be the Hilton Checkers. Now my question. At both Travelocity and at the hotel website I can get the hotel if I select gov't employee for $100! I am not a gov't employee, but I think I've done this before on Travelocity for other hotels and have gotten the rate, but I'm not sure. Does anyone have experience or advice with this? Thanks!
thereuare Posted April 5, 2005 Report Posted April 5, 2005 I wouldn't do it....Although you may have gotten away with it in the past, what are the ramifications if you get a hotel/check-in clerk that does care? You'll then be faced with paying their direct rate (expensive) or having to scramble to find a hotel for the nite (also expensive). So to save $18/nite vs. risk paying much more is not a smart bet in my opinion. However you choose to book, please use the following links:HOTWIREHiltonTravelocity"]Travelocity... or any of the other links from our SUPPORT PAGE.Let us know what you decide to do. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases

Oboy Posted July 14, 2005 Author Report Posted July 14, 2005 I booked via Hotwire at the $118 per night rate. Thanks for the advice!
