Priceline Hotel: Panama City Panama help & advice needed

Any advice on reasonably clean lodging in city near interesting photo opportunities appreciated.

Have 3* by Canal bridge offer at ~$62/day (~$290 total after taxes) via another dot com vendor but that is about 3 miles from downtown...?

Is there a simple clean 2* or up city property that includes breakfast & Internet for $40-$50 daily?

All the 2* reviews online seem to have their share of negative comments.

Also, any advice on public transportation, photogenic city markets, etc., appreciated.

It might be worth your time to post in on www.flyertalk.com. An area called The World/Central America. I can't say for sure, but I've often seen questions such as yours get answered in wonderful helpful detail by a local.
