Started late Fri, Oct 22, @ $50 and then used up all ~15 rebid chances through $66, failing. Resumed Mon, Oct 25 at $60, increasing by $2 increments until hitting this. Was disappointed b/c I've seen the Loews and the W in midtown on this board recently for as low as $65, which seems to be the absolute floor for midtown lately. Was more pleased after checking comp prices (posted above) with hotel itself. I realize these are still premium business nights and you're not going to normally get any crazy deals Sun-Thu in ATL business areas like you normally do for Fri/Sat.I started my PL bids using BB's PRICELINE link. Please do the same when starting your own PL bidding.
AaronJB Posted October 25, 2010 Report Posted October 25, 2010 Congrats on your success. :)Very nice deal for this well-reviewed Kimpton ATL boutique! Glad you are pleased with the result.Thank you for sharing your win and using the site's PRICELINE link.Enjoy your stay.
krlbrgmnn Posted November 9, 2010 Author Report Posted November 9, 2010 Having now stayed at this hotel, I must warn that, if you have/bring a car, it is a valet-only parking situation @ $30/day -- no self-park available. I discovered this prior to arrival because I looked at the hotel's website after winning, but it was still too late to avoid a built-in 36.5% increase in my win's cost. I hope the mods will consider adding this as a note to the PL hotel list to caution others.I confirm that this hotel meets my idea of a 4* hotel. Quite upscale in most every way. Warning: No pool (if you expect one) but it does have a very nice substitute in the way of a 2nd/3rd story rooftop lounge/outdoor bar area. Good quality gym.
