Priceline Hotel: Manhattan on a VERY tight budget

Hi there,

I've had my flights booked to go to NYC for 3 nights for a while now, staying with a friend. but two days ago, due to personal reasons I can no longer stay with him. Which leaves me with a huge problem. Having not planned to need a hotel I have barely any money to afford one. I reckon I can just about manage $100 a night (a little more at a push). I would dearly love to stay in Manhattan if at all possible. I am entirely unfussy about accommodation as long as it is clean and in a semi decent neighbourhood.

do you have any suggestions? Is it possible anywhere would have a great deal just 5 days before my visit?

I would be very grateful!

Thanks

Will

I would be willing to have any star rating. as long as its clean and i have my own bathroom!

There are hotels of varying quality within each star level... this is especially true at the lower star ratings. Since we don't know which hotel you will receive on a successful bid, you have to determine what minimum star level you think would meet your needs. It's the greatly varying quality at the lower star rated hotels which makes us typically not recommend the lower rated hotels in Manhattan, but as you point out, your budget is very low for this area at this time of year.

Let us know and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow.

I would happily stay in a one star hotel as long as I am not likely to be sleeping in someone else's germs or sharing their shower.

As long as hotels like the Carter aren't used here I am very open minded

Re-read my comments in my previous reply. Your asking us to give you assurances which we're not able to do.

You may my get a 1*/2* hotel which is perfect, clean, and meets all your needs... or you could get a property which is not well kept and lacking in many areas; with PRICELINE you can't choose which type you will get. There is a reason we don't recommend the lower rated hotels in NYC (unless you have a very good idea of what it is you'll be getting).
