AMoreno Posted October 8, 2010 Report Posted October 8, 2010 Hello guys, please can you help me with a bidding strategy for a hotel room in Manhattan ?Times Square would be great but midtown east or central park south are good too. Looking for a 3 to 4 star hotel in those areas, looking to spend around 200 a night max ! I would like to stay at the marriott Marquis if that is semehow possible. Thanks for your help, it's my firs time using Priceline.
AMoreno Posted October 8, 2010 Author Report Posted October 8, 2010 Our dates are 10/22 to 10/27. Thanks again.
thereuare Posted October 9, 2010 Report Posted October 9, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding! Are you willing to pay more for a 4* vs. a 3.5* vs. a 3*... or is your goal the least expensive 3* or better for this stay? Also, your topic title indicates Thanksgiving Week, but your post above indicates October... please confirm the correct dates. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
AMoreno Posted October 10, 2010 Author Report Posted October 10, 2010 Sorry, our date are actually 11/22 to 11/27. We would love to stay al TS, but only if we can get something for around 200 a night. I can see the the price difference between 3, 3.5 and 4 is not that big. If we are going to pay around 200 maybe it's possible to get a better hotel for the money, that being a 4 instead a 3.5 or 3.Thanks for your help and sorry about the wrong dates.
thereuare Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 Did you want to bid Times Square up to your limit at the 4* level first... or is your goal for this stay actually the least expensive 4* in any of your acceptable zones?Let us know and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. AMoreno Posted October 11, 2010 Author Report Posted October 11, 2010 I would like to bid on TS first, then move on to the next zones, maybe MTE or Empire state buiding area.
thereuare Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 When bidding 4* in NYC you have FIVE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.(NOTE: 're-bid zone1' is not the same as priceline's Zone1, 're-bid zone2' is not the same as priceline's Zone2, etc, etc)Select 4* Times Square...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone2...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone3...Bid $140, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* Times Square and re-bid zone4...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $150, if rejected add re-bid zone2...Bid $155, if rejected add re-bid zone3...Bid $160, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* Times Square and re-bid zone5...Bid $165, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $170, if rejected add re-bid zone2...Bid $175, if rejected add re-bid zone3...Bid $180, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* Times Square and re-bid zone4 and re-bid zone5...Bid $185, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $190, if rejected add re-bid zone2...Bid $195, if rejected add re-bid zone3...Bid $200Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. AMoreno Posted October 11, 2010 Author Report Posted October 11, 2010 For a 4 people group is it possible to get a 2 bed room via PRICELINE or we're better using HOTWIRE ?
dahammer Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 For a 4 people group is it possible to get a 2 bed room via Pricelino or we're better using Hotwire ?Quad occupancy in Manhattan is a risk with PRICELINE as rooms are small and you are only guaranteed sleeping accomodations for two. You should do a HOTWIRE search for 4 adults.
AMoreno Posted October 13, 2010 Author Report Posted October 13, 2010 Hello guys, i'm new to HOTWIRE, i'm looking for a quad room, 4 adults in Manhattan. We would like to stay in TS or MTE so we are pretty close to the theaters and main attractions there.I've seen a deal in HOTWIRE for 319, TS 4*. Is this a good price or should i look elsewhere ?Tanks for your help !
thereuare Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread. What are the amenities HOTWIRE associates with this Times Square hotel? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. thereuare Posted October 14, 2010 Report Posted October 14, 2010 This Times Square property matches both the Crowne Plaza and the InterContinental, so either of these would be my best guess for this one. However, it's currently showing for $395/nite on my search for your dates. What price are you currently seeing for quad occupancy? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. AMoreno Posted October 15, 2010 Author Report Posted October 15, 2010 We are looking for 200 to 300 a night, I just saw the add for 319, quad room. Is it possible to find a better deal than this ?
AaronJB Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 If you are searching for four on HOTWIRE, rates are often higher (extra person fees included in the price at some properties) and options more limited. If you are seeing a 4* for $319 on HOTWIRE when searching for four for these dates, unfortunately, I think that's going to be a very good deal for these dates.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
