jacie Posted September 29, 2010 Report Posted September 29, 2010 I've been trying for about a 2 weeks now to get a hotel in boston for at least 3* preferably in the copley theatre district (or quincy or fenway... somewhere not too far from the opera house).Ive gone up to 120 (i started at 75, which now i realize was way too low). and i really dont want to go above 150.is this possible? or am i expecting too much from PRICELINE? the HOTWIRE prices are around 260, and i've never bid on a hotel before.any suggestions would be great. i basically have one week left to get a hotel, and there's no way i can pay full (even HOTWIRE full) price for a hotel in boston, so i need to get one on PRICELINE.
Dr.Pepper Posted September 29, 2010 Report Posted September 29, 2010 There doesn't seem to be much availability in Boston (period) for that weekend. I too have been looking for something (Oct 9-11). Trying other sites (Orbitz, Hotels.com, etc. etc.) doesn't comes up with any thing that is downtown and <$200. With such little availability, I might just go with the ~$220 hotels from priceline. It is beautiful fall colors time in New England. It is a weekend. There is a convention in town that weekend.I've bid up to $140 for 3+ to no avail in the 3 particularly touristy downtown areas. The suburbs just don't seem all that convenient for a short touristy trip in downtown (I'm basing that on traffic and long commute times by train). We are actually considering scrapping the idea of Boston and changing to Salem or Plymouth since we just want to see pretty trees and a history lesson (Boston can wait).Best of luck and be sure and let me know if you find success. If someone out there expects a dump of convention hotel rooms and knows when and how that typically works, please let me know.

AaronJB Posted September 30, 2010 Report Posted September 30, 2010 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)I would also suggest looking to see if Travelocity's "Top Secret" section has any deals for these dates.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE, PRICELINE or Travelocity links to start your purchases and searches.
