CruisingUSA
This was the cheapest hotel on the site, 19 bucks. Amenities include casino, and pool and resturaunt. I was disappointed as there was a $100 deposit, and its just a 2 star hotel (I purposely got something cheap to avoid having to pay a deposit) Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas I guess :) Link to comment
CruisingUSA
Hi everyone, I just arrived to Vegas tonight but had a hard time checking into my hotel because they wanted to hold $100. Being that the hotels here are so cheap, I had enough for the next few days. But, according to the lady at the front desk...most all hotels in the area charge deposits upwards of $250 on the strip. I am shocked because I've been staying at everything from the Mariott to the Doubletree paying only $20 deposits ($50 the most) in the middle of the country. But now that Im here, its a different story. Is there any area of recommendating for hotels that dont hold high deposits? I dont mind the resort fees as much as them holding my spending money :) Link to comment
dahammer
a $50 per night deposit is not uncommon in Vegas, if you make this in the form of a cash depost at checkin, you will get it back upon checkout. However, if you use a debit card, it is up to your bank to release the funds back into your account. I've not heard of $250 per night deposits on the strip, I would challenge her and ask for the names of these hotels.PS, can you please post your dates of travel and winning bid for your Omaha trip? thanks in advance for making this a better board for getting great travel deals.
