thereuare Posted March 26, 2005 Report Posted March 26, 2005 A quick look at rates at the Inter-Continental show about $450/nite! :) This may be a bit tougher/higher than usual... what is your maximum bid amount? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
allen074 Posted March 26, 2005 Author Report Posted March 26, 2005 yea i had thought i would be able to use my ambassador intercontinental membership and my free night cert but it expires on 6/05 so i will use it in paris :)would still be nice to stay there... how about $200 a night? think that would do it?thank you
allen074 Posted March 26, 2005 Author Report Posted March 26, 2005 threw up a bid of $85 -- got this:We searched hundreds of options to find your hotel room, however we were not able to find a hotel that would accept your price for $85 per room, per night. Your credit card has not been charged for Request Number 214. During our search we found a hotel room available for $152 per room, per night.$152 for a 5 star!rebids to $101 did not work
WillTravel Posted March 26, 2005 Report Posted March 26, 2005 On Fodors, someone was very unhappy because she had bid for a 5* in Amsterdam City Center and Museum Quarter zone and got the Hilton Amsterdam - not the one near the airport, but in the south of the city. The location doesn't look that terrible to me, but that's what the counteroffer would likely give you.
allen074 Posted March 27, 2005 Author Report Posted March 27, 2005 interesting - i checked out the post -- i thought the only 5star was the intercontinental?
WillTravel Posted March 27, 2005 Report Posted March 27, 2005 interesting - i checked out the post -- i thought the only 5star was the intercontinental? No, the list here is not complete. It only contains those hotels that people have actually reported here.Check the Vacations option for a stay period that includes your dates, and you see the 5* Hilton Amsterdam listed.
