mesadler Posted March 25, 2005 Report Posted March 25, 2005 I bid $60 for 2 nights (6/7-6/9) for 4* in Kensington - Earls Court - Knightsbridge, Mayfair - Soho.I got a counter for $90.00. Any ideas what this might be? Any advice for a priceline rookie? What should my next step be?Max
WillTravel Posted March 25, 2005 Report Posted March 25, 2005 I have also gotten a $90 counteroffer for my August dates for Kensington. I can tell you that $79 did not work for me. I think $82 or thereabouts is the magic number. Read thereuare's tips about how to use the rebid zone, or wait 72 hours and bid $82.To see possibilities for what it might be, look at the hotel list here, and set up a dummy Priceline vacation package that includes your two-night stay. In my case, I can see that the hotels I'm likely (although far from certain) to get are Copthorne Tara Kensington and Millennium Gloucester.
mesadler Posted March 26, 2005 Author Report Posted March 26, 2005 When checking the vacations: Millennium Gloucester London is $888, Copthorne Tara Kensington is $927 and Holiday Inn Kensington Forum is $943 and the Rembrandt (Where I actually holding reservations) is $956.Any ideas? Thanks for your help.
lwitchel Posted March 26, 2005 Report Posted March 26, 2005 Dollars to doughnuts it's the Millenium Gloucester. If you'll look, I won those exact dates at that hotel earlier this week for $82. $80 was rejected. Feel free to try $81! :)
mesadler Posted March 26, 2005 Author Report Posted March 26, 2005 $81 it is at the Millennium Gloucester. Thanks everyone.
