Priceline Hotel: 2* Homestead Ramada Florida City

I found that just this month people got $48 for 4* in Miami Coral Gables. I tried $50,$55,$60, no luck. And I even included Southwest Miami and Dadeland as well as 3.5 and 3*, still no luck for $55.

Is there any events going on in that weekend?

Rates are higher then usual for your dates so something (be it the holiday weekend or some other event, conference, etc) is taking place. At one 4* hotel i checked direct rates started at $220/nite, making your maximum bid so far a third of conventionally booked rates, which is a low probability of success.

Also, if you look at HOTWIRE for these dates most of the inventory is 'retail' (where the name of the hotel and price are both shown) which implies they haven't been given much opaque inventory for these dates, so PRICELINE may not have much either. As well, there is a 4* hotel offered 'opaque' for $155/nite, but this prices also confirms that you're $60 bid is much too low (and $100+ seems more likely/realistic)
