seaile
I wanted something in town Sofitel or Marriot got the Hilton. Don't get me wrong I am happy with my bid only this is more of an airport hotel. I have stayed at the Renaissance in Zurich at the airport and would have tried (and bid less) for that again had I only know......Has anyone stayed at the Hilton? Link to comment
thereuare
This hotel appears to be in the Glattbrugg zone (and has previously been reported there, not in the City Center zone)... can you confirm which area you bid and which priceline zone the hotel is located in?Was this also your first bid in the zone? Thanks. seaile
First bid I copied this from my confirmation page from priceline. Mistake, I am not sure?CentralHohenbuhlstrasse 10 Zurich, Switzerland 41-1-8285050 Link to comment
WillTravel
Priceline seems to have made this mistake before:PRICELINE ZONE PROBLEMWorth fighting about if you are interested. Link to comment
thereuare
WT, good memory!! This is indeed in the Glattbrugg zone, correct?seaile, if you 'appeal' this win let us know how it goes. seaile
I did contact Priceline said that they had moved this hotel to the Central Zone and that it was not a mistake. Link to comment
thereuare
I would contact them again inform them that if they decide to re-classify it they also have to change the zone boundaries! :) Somebody correct me if i'm wrong, but this hotel appears to still be in the Glattbrugg zone. WillTravel
I agree, thereuare, based on nothing more than simple map-reading skills :) .I suggest taking a screenshot of the zone maps quickly, and protesting again. Link to comment
seaile
I will try again, will keep you posted. Thanks for your help! Link to comment
southbay
As you travel by the hotel bus of the Rennisannce or the Novotel,(both Priceline Hotels)you go right past the Hilton. In my opinon,it is maybe 10-12 mins. WALKING to the airport from the Hilton, and I would definetley say it is an airport hotel. The hotel bus even says Hilton Airport Hotel. I have stayed numerous times at the Rennisancce and Novotel and the buses all leave from the same area. I would defintley call them back ...GOOD LUCK!! Link to comment
thereuare
I don't think the argument is whether it's an airport hotel or not, it's that it's not located in the zone they're saying it is.Since you know the area maybe you could look at the priceline map and assess if it is in the Central zone or the Glattbrugg zone? seaile
I emailed priceline here is a portion of the response:"There was no problem with our system. When you placed your request, you selected a specific shaded area (Central) in which you wanted to stay. The hotel you received is in fact in the shaded area of the map you saw on our web site. " Link to comment
WillTravel
I think you'll have to be very specific. Point out that the hotel is actually in the shaded Glattbrugg zone - and the precise placement marked by an X. You can probably do this by superimposing the Expedia and Priceline maps. Of course I could be reading it all wrong, but it doesn't seem so. Link to comment
seaile
In the email I did let them know that the address for the Hilton clearly showed Glattbrugg. I am not real upset about it and may let it go. Link to comment
