I am looking at a hotel in Monterey, it's 2.5* and here are the amenities: Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness Center, Pool, Business Center, High-speed Internet Access

Sounds like Holiday Inn? Is that a fair guess?

I don't know where to post this, but in the Hotwire Hotel List under Monterey, you have the Portola listed as a 4* but accoring to recent wins, it is listed as a 3.5*

Last reports show the Portola as a 3.5* on PRICELINE and a 4* hotel on HOTWIRE... perhaps you were looking at a priceline win instread of a hotwire report? (or if you see it reported as a 3.5* thru HOTWIRE please give us a link so we can research it further)
