I'm not seeing the Hackensack property on a current HOTWIRE search for your nite above... are you still seeing this on your own HOTWIRE search? If so, are you searching for more then one room or for more than the default 2adults/0children?

Also, as i'm familiar with this area, can i ask what the purpose of this stay is for, as these are two very different areas, imo.

My wife and I are flying into LaGuardia (late) from AZ and meeting my daughter and her husband. My first inclination was to just get a hotel near the airport. However, I saw the other 3-star for a good price and got curious. I didn't look like the Hackensack area was too far. We just need a place to sleep and the next day we do the NY tourist thing. Any help/advice will be much appreciated!

To clarify/confirm... your daughter and son-in-law live in the area (and where are you meeting them) OR you and your wife, and your daughter and son-in-law, all live elsewhere and are meeting in the NYC area.

Son-in-law is an AF pilot. They are stationed at McGuire AFB. We just need a night's stay in NY to see the sights the next day and then take the train down to McGuire.

Not reported yet as such, but my guess for the HOTWIRE 3* property is the Crowne Plaza, downgraded from the last reported 3.5* level.
