Priceline Hotel: HELP: London

This board is wonderfully helpful - I'm officially coverting from "lurker" to "poster."

I'm headed to London in June and visiting friends who all live near Islington. The Crowne Plaza in The City seems to be the only 4* property anyone has ever scored - leading me to believe that that is definitely the 4* that is currently being promoted in that region of London. I bid $110, it tried to get me to accept $127 and I'll fire another shot at around $115. Anyone know of any other hotel this could possibly be?

My dates are the first week in June for 3 nights.

I wouldn't say the Crowne Plaza is the only possibility. You have to look to see if there are any Thistle or Novotel hotels in that area - these chain hotels can be either 3* or 4*. It's also possible there's some other hotel. I'm sure any 4* hotel would be perfectly fine, though.

Also, interesting to me that the Crowne Plaza is considered 4* on Priceline but 3* on Hotwire.

I would NOT make the assumption that this is the only 4* hotel in the zone (and the comments at the beginning of every hotel list on the board re-iterate this)

Please include the actual dates of your stay, as rates can be very different from one day to the next, even in the same week.

You might be able to get the Bloomsbury area for a somewhat cheaper price, and it wouldn't be that far from Islington either - at least if I remember London geography correctly.
