Priceline Hotel: Resort Maui (Kaanapali-Lahaina) Sheraton

This is my first post. I booked the Sheraton Maui on Priceline for $175 for Oct 12 - 15 2010. I really wanted the Marriot but I am happy with the result. Using the following method is how I got it.

Using Resorts only;

1st Wailea - Makena $160

2nd added - Kihei $165

3rd added - Kahului $170

4th finally added Ka'anapali - Lahaina - $175 and got the Sheraton.

I should have added Ka'anapali - Lahaina 2nd to have tried to have gotten the best price for the Sheraton.

Strategically speaking, that's correct, what you did actually maxed out your probability of getting the Marriott - but obviously, the Marriott didn't have inventory on PL - but even so, you actually got the best price for the Sheraton. Nobody's reported it for less than $175 a night in a long time.
