seaile Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 I am trying to purchase a room through priceline Geneva Switzerland April 28 - May 1st I am up to $125 4* How much further should I go? Another question the Holiday Inn Express I thought about booking it (good rates) but Travelocity rates it a two star? Has anyone stayed there, is it a two star? Any help would be great!
thereuare Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 Here are some reviews of the HOTEL.How high should you go on Priceline? That all depends upon your budget, the type of hotels you're accustomed to staying in, and what your next best alternative is.Let us know how else we can help. seaile Posted March 16, 2005 Author Report Posted March 16, 2005 I assumed (which I should never do) that Geneva would roughly be (pricewise) equal to Paris I have bid and won bids from 115 highest once 182 for a four star. I would really like a four star but not totally opposed to a three star I was thinking of raising my bid as high as 141 for a 4 star in Geneva. What would you suggest for a three star? I know I only have one shot (only one area), but I would really prefer a 4 star.
WillTravel Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 I would check out all the other possibilities, because Priceline is likely to get you a hotel near the airport (and the Holiday Inn Express is also near the airport). I haven't been to Geneva, but it seems likely you would want a city center hotel. I think Geneva is likely to be somewhat more expensive than Paris for numerous reasons.
Regis Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 I am a Geneva resident and work in an office building adjacent to the Holiday Inn Express. This is an airport hotel and I would only recomend it if you are taking a connecting flight in GVA and need to be close to the airport. Otherwise you are much better off with a downtown hotel. Accor hotels have nice properties in the city center. Feel free to e-mail me if you need further info on Geneva.
seaile Posted March 24, 2005 Author Report Posted March 24, 2005 Thanks for all the help I booked the Novotel downtown it is a 4* I got it on their site for about $166 a night I thought that was very reasonable for Geneva. If anyone has any more advise on Geneva (on what to do once we are there) let me know. THANKS FOR EVERYONES HELP!
