?risk of bidding with Priceline for one room with 3 occupants

This is probably an old topic, but I do not know how to search through the numerous posts to find the answer.

If I need a room for three persons, could that be a problem since Priceline quarantees room for two persons?

If so, Hotwire may be better as you indicate the number of persons that will be in the room.

Found the answer to my own question.

Priceline only quarantees room for 2, i.e. can be a single bed. That wouldn't work for my situation.

HOTWIRE is a better option for this choice, as while 2 beds is not guaranteed with Hotwire either, it at least allows one to indicate more than 2 people and Hotwire should ensure some form of bedding for the amount of people indicated - that can mean 2 beds, 1 + sofabed, 1+rollaway, etc.

By single bed you mean 1 bed, correct? I've never had a PRICELINE room with a "single" bed (i.e. twin size).

PRICELINE guarantees double occupancy... after that it's all at the discretion of the hotel.

If users need more then double occupancy, or want to ensure separate beds, HOTWIRE can be an option as they allow you to search for up to quad occupancy.

Once I had a PRICELINE room but needed to add a third person last minute. Called the hotel directly and they charged me an additional 10/night for rollaway. Still a great deal.
