TanjaK Posted March 15, 2005 Report Posted March 15, 2005 we need a room for two nights, 4/28 and 29.. I went on hotwire and they don't have 5* listed at all. I am not sure why, does that mean they are sold out? on priceline, i bid 120 and got rejected. how do you re-bid w/o changing something or do you have to change ? thanks for any help! =) Tanja
TanjaK Posted March 15, 2005 Author Report Posted March 15, 2005 oops sorry. I am looking in Vegas, preferably on the strip. thanks!
thereuare Posted March 15, 2005 Report Posted March 15, 2005 This is a Thursday to Saturday stay? If so, this can be a bit tricky given the price changes that typically occur between midweek and weekend dates.Although only a two nite stay, would you consider SPLITTING THE BID in order to try to get the Venetian for just one nite of your stay?HOTWIRE does currently show a 5* listing for the above dates but it's at $285/nite. :) Let us know how flexible you are and we'll try to help you find the best deal given your parameters. TanjaK Posted March 16, 2005 Author Report Posted March 16, 2005 How were you able to get the hotwire rate? I could not get the 5* to come up.. how do you split the bid?
thereuare Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 Did you read the above link regarding splitting the bid?I just pulled up the 5* again (4/28-4/30). Try clicking this HOTWIRE link and do your search again. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
TanjaK Posted March 16, 2005 Author Report Posted March 16, 2005 ok, thanks, it did work that time (weird).. so when i split it, it gave me 184 for first night and 425 for 2nd night. that doesn't make it better =(... so are you recommending I not stay at the same place for both nights? thanks again for your help!!
thereuare Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 I'm not necessarily recommending that, but more so saying that if you want to stay at the Venetian badly enough that is likley the only way you're going to be able to stay there... for only one nite. Some like the experience enough to change hotels, others don't want to change, it's personal preference; so i'm not recommending it, but more so asking your preference. It's always a balance between what we want and what we're willing to pay. TanjaK Posted March 16, 2005 Author Report Posted March 16, 2005 What are the 4* hotels if I didn't want to split it? thanks again.
thereuare Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 Let's approach this from a different angle... how much would you like to spend? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
TanjaK Posted March 16, 2005 Author Report Posted March 16, 2005 I am wanting to spend between 350-400 and I would LOVE to stay at the Venetian but I do not want to move hotels..
thereuare Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 Well the Venetian is more expensive for one of your nites than your budget is for both nites, so based upon current rates that is not likely going to happen.Do you have a similar budget for a hotel lesser than the Venetian? TanjaK Posted March 16, 2005 Author Report Posted March 16, 2005 yes, I would go lower, do you know what hotels are in the one level lower? thx.
thereuare Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 Priceline and/or HOTWIRE are not likely going to be your best bet for this stay, but we'll try to find you the best deals available for your dates if you let us know what you budget is. thereuare Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 Here's some of your best bets (pun intended :) )Monte Carlo for $152/niteExcalibur for $119 (i would sooner stay at the Monte Carlo, but if budget is a concern it's an option)MGM Grand for $150/niteOf the above i think the Monte Carlo is the best deal.Let us know whatever you decide to do and if we can be of further help.
