we need a room for two nights, 4/28 and 29.. I went on hotwire and they don't have 5* listed at all. I am not sure why, does that mean they are sold out? on priceline, i bid 120 and got rejected. how do you re-bid w/o changing something or do you have to change ? thanks for any help! =) Tanja

This is a Thursday to Saturday stay? If so, this can be a bit tricky given the price changes that typically occur between midweek and weekend dates.

Although only a two nite stay, would you consider SPLITTING THE BID in order to try to get the Venetian for just one nite of your stay?

HOTWIRE does currently show a 5* listing for the above dates but it's at $285/nite. :)

ok, thanks, it did work that time (weird).. so when i split it, it gave me 184 for first night and 425 for 2nd night. that doesn't make it better =(... so are you recommending I not stay at the same place for both nights? thanks again for your help!!

I'm not necessarily recommending that, but more so saying that if you want to stay at the Venetian badly enough that is likley the only way you're going to be able to stay there... for only one nite. Some like the experience enough to change hotels, others don't want to change, it's personal preference; so i'm not recommending it, but more so asking your preference.

It's always a balance between what we want and what we're willing to pay.

Well the Venetian is more expensive for one of your nites than your budget is for both nites, so based upon current rates that is not likely going to happen.

Do you have a similar budget for a hotel lesser than the Venetian?

Here's some of your best bets (pun intended :) )

Monte Carlo for $152/nite

Excalibur for $119 (i would sooner stay at the Monte Carlo, but if budget is a concern it's an option)

MGM Grand for $150/nite

Of the above i think the Monte Carlo is the best deal.

Let us know whatever you decide to do and if we can be of further help.
