blkjck1 Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 Bidding for friends who I said had picked absolutely one of the worst times to try to get a hotel room in New York. I identified on Hotwire for a 3.5* hotel for what looked to be a match for the World Center Hotel at $239, and used that as my fall back position as the friends said they would be quite happy with this place, but would prefer to be closer to the action in midtown. Tried for 3.5 and 4* hotels up to $250 and $275 respectively in the MTW, MTE, TS-TD, Hell's Kitchen, ESB and CPS areas with no success. When I focused on the Downtown area, I bid from $225-275 for a 4* with no success. Dropped down to 3.5*, and began at $200, and was countered at $240. I then used rebid zones before being accepted at $225.World Center Hotel 3 Proud to be Canadian!
