Used BB's general link to Priceline and let Priceline ask me where and when. I was bidding for the same day. HOTWIRE had what your site identifies as the Radission Riverside for $68 (3*). I bid 4* $50 and added a couple of zones and went to $60 without success. Went to 3.5* and started again at $50 and went to $60. Then went to $50 knowing I had only one rebid and was successul. When we got to the hotel there was a large convention checking out so there were a lot of vacancies for that day. It is in the low end of 3* hotels but the price is fair enough. They didn't have me sign anything when I went in and they give me no statement on the way out - simply said that it's all paid for. The king bed rooms are a bit smaller than the double queen rooms, if you care. The parking is $7 but you can park overnight free on the street and there is a $3 lot across the street. The area is basically empty except for a busy bus stop and convention center. BTW the large percentage difference in what PRICELINE was accepting and what HOTWIRE wanted makes me think that Hotwire has a minimum spread - say at least $20 or 20% above what the hotel gets. BTW although Priceline offers 3.5* in this zone I see no report of that being won.
