thereuare Posted March 11, 2005 Report Posted March 11, 2005 There is no bidding with HOTWIRE.Why don't you start with this thread: I'VE NEVER USED PRICELINE OR HOTWIRE which describes the similarities and differences with each service. Then report back and we'll take it from there. uaw Posted March 14, 2005 Author Report Posted March 14, 2005 ok. I do understand the principles of priceline and hotwire. But which strategie do I need to reach my aims ?Hope any advanced priceliner replies ...Thank you very muchuaw
dahammer Posted March 14, 2005 Report Posted March 14, 2005 using Hotwire, a 3* appears that may be the Holiday Inn @ 4th and Arch for $72 and a 4* that appears to be the Shearaton Society Hill for $79. Using Priceline, the 4* in the waterfront is usually the Hyatt. Sometimes the prices we want to pay are lower than the price the hotels are willing to accept due to the available room inventory. It would be helpful to list your bidding history such as "bid $60 for the Waterfront area, but was rejected, added 3* and bid $48 but was rejected" or something like that. Also, Downtown Philly has 7 rebid zones if you are looking for a 4* property, so you will need to understand the rebidding process by adding zones.
thereuare Posted March 14, 2005 Report Posted March 14, 2005 tried 4* 60 $ and 3* 48 $ but was rejected at priceline.com (2 days ago)how to get a 4* for 60 or a 3* for 50 ?It seems essentially that you have already tried up to your limits, all you can do now is:-lower your star rating-increase you maximum bid-wait and hope low priced inventory becomes available-SPLIT YOUR BIDLet us know what you want to do and we'll suggest how to proceed.
