calla Posted July 25, 2010 Report Posted July 25, 2010 Based on previous bids last summer, I bid $56 on this 2 l/2* hotel (the highest rated hotel in this city) and won the Holiday Inn with my first bid. With taxes and fees of $13.02, my total cost is $69.02. Best web rate is $113 + taxes = $124. Reviews are decent, so I'm happy with these savings. Of course I always wonder if a lower bid would have been accepted! Used the PRICELINE link to do my bidding.When doing a "Quick Search" on this site for Marquette, the results show the Marquette hotel in Minnesota and Louisiana but very few hotels for the city of Marquette. Any way of cleaning up the search so that the results are for the city and not the name of a hotel?

thereuare Posted July 25, 2010 Report Posted July 25, 2010 There are others who use the hotel names in their searches so we woudln't want to exclude that from the search, but there are two options you have to show just the criteria you're looking for:1) use negative keywords in your searches. If you search "marquette -minneapolis -orleans" (without the quotes) the minus sign in front of minneapolis and orleans will show you matches which does have marquette but does not have minneapolis or orleans (the two cities where the word marquette appears in a hotel name)2) use the formal search function on the boar on the top right of the page. Enter "marquette" as your search term, then select only the Michigan forums to search within (you can select both the Michigan Priceline and Michigan Hotwire forums by holding the CTRL key on your keyboard when clicking the second forum to search by) and then clicking "Search Topic Titles Only" on the bottom right of the search box.Hope the above helps.
