kalisbon Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 Hello,I need a single room for those dates. I have seen wins on the board of the Sheraton Delfina in Santa Monica for 100/night and the Sheraton in Pasadena for 70-85 dollars. Ideally I'd like to stay in Santa Monica, but I'm also willing to split my time between Pasadena and Santa Monica (or downtown and Santa Monica). I'd like to pay $100/night or less. Since my stay includes a weekend, what advice would you give on bidding. I'm new to Priceline/Hotwire bidding and nervous about it. Thanks.
AaronJB Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Santa Monica properties unfortunately look busy or booked up for these dates, with some hotels in that area appearing unavailable for scattered dates during your stay. The Pasadena area looks more promising for these dates, with a 3.5* on HOTWIRE for $106, for example. Which star rating would you be interested in bidding for? Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
kalisbon Posted July 22, 2010 Author Report Posted July 22, 2010 Thanks. I'd be happy if I could get maybe 3 nights at the end of the trip 8/9-11 in Santa Monica. I think 3.5 stars is the Sheraton?

I think 3.5 stars is the Sheraton?I don't expect $100 will be enough for a 3.5* in Santa Monica-Marina Del Rey but it may be enough for a 3*. Remember that you're not just bidding for Santa Monica but for a hotel anywhere in the SM-MDR zone. At 3* level you're more likely to win something in Marina Del Rey than in Santa Monica. Are you willing to accept a Marina Del Rey hotel too?
