Priceline Hotel: 4* Newark (Jersey City) Westin Newport

I am going to be using your PRICELINE link to try to get a hotel room in the Jersey City area, I am going to start with the 4 star and then move on to the 3 star. But, if that does not work within my price range, what other area in the Newark portion of priceline would you recommend?

We are travelling with 2 small children, so a safe area and being close to transportation into NYC is extremly important.

What are your dates of travel and maximum bid? Could you accept a room with one king bed or even one double bed? Will you have a car?

The Secaucus-North Bergen zone is second best to Jersey City for easy access to public transportation into Manhattan, but some hotels might require a short drive to access a bus or train.

We will need a room from July 31-August 3 and yes, we will have a car. I have bid up to 115 for the Jersey City area with no luck thus far for 3-4 star. Edit to include: Max bid around 130-140.

Is the Secaucus_North Bergen zone generally safe? Reason I am asking is because I am unfamilar with the area, but my brother had stayed in Newark last year (hotel name I can't recall) and his car was broken into.

Tried from 85-115 for the last couple of days trying to get a 4* in the Jersey City area with no luck. Finally upped my bid by 3 dollars and was accepted!
