Linda Posted March 8, 2005 Report Posted March 8, 2005 I need a hotel in NYC in the Midtown area. Check In 4/13 and Check out 4/18. I will need a room with two beds. Is it realistic to try and get a hotel on Priceline or Hotwire with this requirement of two beds? Should I call some of the Hotels first and see if they will honor this request?
thereuare Posted March 8, 2005 Report Posted March 8, 2005 Welcome to BetterBidding!I wouldn't waste your time calling hotels as the bottom line is that such a request is just that, a request, and no matter what you are told on the phone your actual room assignment will be based upon what is available at check-in.With the above noted, there are usually a few tricks, as well as alternate services that you can use in order to get what you want and still get a great deal on a hotel. If you were to get a room with one bed and a pull-out sofa, would that be sufficient? What type of star rating and budget are you considering? WillTravel Posted March 8, 2005 Report Posted March 8, 2005 With Hotwire, you are guaranteed enough beds if you enter the right number of people at the start, although one bed may be a sofa bed.
Linda Posted March 10, 2005 Author Report Posted March 10, 2005 I am looking for a 4* with a budget maximum of $180. Acceptable locations are Midtown and Upper East Side. Please give me help with the bidding.
thereuare Posted March 10, 2005 Report Posted March 10, 2005 There are 3 'midtown' areas (MTE, MTW, UM/CPS)... are all 3 accepable or were you only refering to one of them? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Linda Posted March 11, 2005 Author Report Posted March 11, 2005 All three Midtown areas should be OK. My wife and a friend will be visiting art museums. If one area is preferable over another she is open to your suggestions. The only absolute requirement is that the check-in date is on April 12th and check out on 18th with a room with two beds. Prefer a hotel with a bar and restaurant. Thanks for your assistance.
thereuare Posted March 11, 2005 Report Posted March 11, 2005 You keep mentioning the two bed requirement, but have not yet answered:If you were to get a room with one bed and a pull-out sofa, would that be sufficient? Linda Posted March 11, 2005 Author Report Posted March 11, 2005 I would require two beds. No sofa pull out bed.
thereuare Posted March 11, 2005 Report Posted March 11, 2005 Then i think you have to book direct with the hotel (i would even exclude Expedia and the like from the list) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
