Amy M Posted July 19, 2010 Report Posted July 19, 2010 Adding another part of our stay. It's for a 4 star at $134/night with walking access to beach, located along the ocean, smoke free rooms available, fitness center, pools, business center and hi speed internet access. If it's the Intercontinental, I'd take it in a second even with the $18/parking. I think that's what it is, but I'm nervous because the Hyatt doesn't have great reviews on trip advisor, but it is also not close to the water--so I think this is the Intercontinental, right? Thanks for all of this boards help during my stay--and yes, I used the HOTWIRE links from this forum :) and will continue to do so when I book each leg of my California trip (except for the B&B I booked directly through the B&B in Yosemite) :)
Amy M Posted July 19, 2010 Author Report Posted July 19, 2010 Checked the list at the top of the forums and realized it was likely Portola Hotel & Spa, which while it didn't have as good of reviews on Trip Advisor, I liked what I read and booked for $134 with taxes and fees $36.88. Total: $317.08. Might have been able to do better, but I needed to get at least one more leg of this trip booked this weekend. Thanks again and hope the above is helpful to others. I'm pleased with my rate since I bid up to $140 for a 4* on Priceline for this weekend and was rejected with no counter (I'll post that in a separate thread).Amy
Amy M Posted July 19, 2010 Author Report Posted July 19, 2010 I bid using another posters logic and rebidding the following:$111 for Monterey, added rebid zone, $120, closed browser and added rebid zone for $130 and then finally tried again at $140 and was rejected each time. Went to HOTWIRE and got a 4* at $134 + taxes and fees. I'm happy since it's a busy summer weekend :)I used the links from this forum for both PRICELINE and HOTWIRE--and I will do so for the last legs of my trip that I have left to book--Santa Monica, somewhere around Pismo Beach and then Sonoma and San Francisco.Have a great night all!
acchang4 Posted July 19, 2010 Report Posted July 19, 2010 What was the name of the 4* and what was your total with taxes?
