I got the 4 1/2* Intercontinental for 102/night.Was this for your Chicago hotel stay OR for your San Francisco stay above?Either way please reply to your Chicago thread with whatever you ended up doing for that stay (as nobody will know to look here to learn of your outcome)... then reply to this thread either with your results or if you still need help with the above. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. thereuare Posted July 19, 2010 Report Posted July 19, 2010 Can you please add a reply to your Chicago thread with the amenities shown before your purchase... you can still view this information by going to HOTWIRE and clicking the MY ACCOUNT link near the top right of their home page. For your San Francisco stay...Union Square seems like a great area to be in?Please look at the PRICELINE map for this area and let us know which zones, by PRICELINE name, you're willing to accept... there are two Union Square zones, Union Square EAST and (Union Square West-Nob Hill)... are both of these acceptable? Are any of the other Downtown zones acceptable too? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Colfax Posted July 19, 2010 Report Posted July 19, 2010 Hi I am going to San Fran in October either of the weekends listed above. Are hotel rates the factor that will determine which weekend you're going to SF? Like if one weekend's much cheaper than the other that's the weekend you want.Or you're just not sure which weekend you're travelling yet, and rates don't matter?
sweetiek23 Posted July 22, 2010 Author Report Posted July 22, 2010 we were debating between two dates, but now have decided 10/21-10/24 will work the best.Any recommendatsion on if union square east or west is better to stay in?
Colfax Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 Any recommendatsion on if union square east or west is better to stay in?It's a matter of personal opinion. To me USE and USW are both fine. Some people think neither is fine and only want to stay in FD-Emb area or SOMA. Some people like USE but not USW, because some of the USW hotels are near the Tenderloin. OTOH you greatly improve your chances of acceptance by including USW because there are so many hotels in USW (and only a few in USE). But it's up to you. Since your stay's not til October and you've got plenty of time to do a little research. My first suggestion is to read as many SF posts as you can here to get a range of different opinions about USE and USW. There are some useful USE vs USW discussions posted in the TripAdvisor forums too, and in the Fodor's forums. If you have more specific questions that will help you decide between USE and USW feel free to post.Once you've decided which zone(s) are acceptable post back here, including your bidding limit, and someone will offer a strategy.
