AinA Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 Denied! I am looking for a 4* downtown Seattle Pike-Place area. Started at $79 and did the following permeations:Bothell $82Kirkland $85Lake Union $88Lynnwood $91Mukilteo $94North Everett $97Renton $100 Seattle Airport $103 Seattle Center $107U of Wa $110Still denied :) I will ponder this over the next 24 hrs and figure out how high I am willing to go. There is a HOTWIRE room for $159 that is either Hotel Monaco or the W and 4* rooms are available for booking in the $270+ range so that is encouraging. I am just feeling like PRICELINE hates me these days, had a horror experience trying to bid for a room last weekend in the Aberdeen area (will have to post about that when the shock of that wears off) ended up in America's Best for a RIDICULOUS amount of money, only positive thing I can say about that is I won't need to go to the spa for exfoliation, their sheets and towels took care of that!!! :) I am so spoiled by BetterBidding.Used the PRICELINE link at the top of the page (of course!).AinA
thereuare Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 With HOTWIRE at $159 i'm guessing you may be looking at ~$120-$135... still not a bad deal given the retail prices you've quoted.Although not ideal, if you're on a tight budget the airport zone may be a viable option now that the lightrail is running... it's about 35-40 minutes to downtown from the airport, the fare is inexpensive, and the airport zone can usually be had for very cheap. Not a great plan if you need to go back-forth from your hotel and the city frequently, but if just making one trip to and one trip back, it would be easy on the budget, although certainly somewhat less convenient.Keep us updated and thanks for using the PRICELINE link to begin your bidding. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
AinA Posted July 15, 2010 Author Report Posted July 15, 2010 Well, started again tonight with the feeling that $140 was the top I would pay. So the plan was start at $90 with $5 bumps. First bid got the Edgewater for $90 for one night 7/15 - 7/16. Happy with the property, very nice for the circumstances (it is a room for a friend and her amour). Could you please update the title.Used the PRICELINE link :)AinA
