Priceline Hotel: 4* Coronado - Loews - Help please!

Hi everyone, frequent lurker, first time poster....

I'm trying to get the Loew's Coronado from Sept 2nd to Sept 5th. Tried starting at $100 and kept using free rebids until I got to $133. At this point, with the additional PL fees, it's basically the same cost as using the hotel's 45 day advance rate, plus I get the hotel frequent customer program and know which hotel I'm getting.

Am I doing something wrong? Or is the hotel setting a high PL price?

There is no way to guarantee a particular property via PRICELINE, and there has been one other 4* (the Marriott, there may be others that have not yet been reported) reported to the board. There may not be PRICELINE inventory at this star level for these dates at this time.

Your dates are Labor Day weekend and my guess is that Loew's hasn't given PRICELINE inventory for these dates, at least not yet.

Loew's has been reported on both HOTWIRE and Pric.eline. For your dates Hotwire doesn't have any opaque 4* inventory on Coronado. Instead Hotwire offers Loew's at full retail, which is $172.53, through their partner Hotels.com.

If Loew's hasn't given opaque inventory to HOTWIRE for these dates it's likely they haven't given inventory to PRICELINE either.

If Loew's does give PRICELINE inventory closer to your dates I expect the price will be somewhere in the $100-130 range, based on past history. Loew's has a 45-day advance prepaid rate of $152 now. Given the relatively shallow discount you might anticipate from waiting, and the possibility you could wait and win some other hotel than Loew's, it seems like booking conventionally might be your best bet in this instance.
