I set myself up in the lobby of another hotel that has free WiFi and went to work. I usually start by checking rates and availability with Hotwire and found what appeared to be the JC Hyatt for $86 and the Candlewood for about $100 and some other 2* for $146. The JC area almost never has same day rooms available, especially during mid-week (Monday-Wednesday). I took a shot and bid $48 and WON!!! :) Your Offer Price: $48.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $48.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $14.00 Total Charges: $62.00 The HW rate including taxes and fees was $107, the Hyatt.com rate was $259; with taxes about $290. OK, so I will have to walk about two blocks and pay $15 to park the car...maybe I will valet it tonight......naaaaah!! Its against my nature.....just can't do it...... :) Link to comment
