Bonwah Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 This is the first time I've ever accepted one of Priceline's counter-offers. The details:6/13: Bid $77 for Union Square East (rejected)6/13: $84 for USE + Financial District (rejected)6/15: $90 for Union Square West (got confused and bid West instead of East)That bid was rejected, but Priceline presented the page saying "Bid $16/night more right now and we'll accept the bid." I decided to go ahead with it, since my trip was coming up pretty fast and I was ready to lock it in. I first tried resubmitting the bid for half the $16 -- a total of $98 a night -- but it rejected it immediately with the message "You must raise your bid at least $16." Interesting! So I then bid at $106/night. The result:Hotel Nikko San Francisco$106/night$378 total (three nights, taxes included)I've stayed at the Nikko before and it's not a bad spot. Their current website rates are $145/$504 total, so it's not THAT huge of a discount. But overall, satisfied with that price for summer in San Francisco.
