fgm Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 Over the last two days I've bid from the $70's (optimistic) up to $110 for a 4* hotel in the USE & FD area (& USW Nob Hill). No luck yet but I'll try again tomorrow. I'm a little surprised because it's a W, Th, F stay but it is short notice and I read that there is a big festival that weekend.Anyway, just adding to the pool of knowledge. And of course I have been using the PRICELINE link from this site. Thanks,FGM
yellowdog Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding :) Thanx for the information and for using boards PRICELINE link!Yes, festival might have an impact of the rates.Just post if you need any help.Yellowdog.
Colfax Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 You might have success for 3.5* in USE. Francis Drake or Marriott Union Square. If you're interested maybe try $75-100 range for 3.5*.
cibung Posted June 20, 2010 Report Posted June 20, 2010 Hello everyone,I have actually been bidding for 4* USE in the past 5 days, for the exact same dates, starting my bid from $87 to $95, but had always been rejected. I was not aware that there is going to be a festival, until I read this thread.I wouldn't mind staying at a 3.5* at all, but I've been wondering how I could modify my bids, so that I can have more than 2 bids everytime? I've just tried bidding on a 4* tonight, and then 3.5* at $78, both were rejected (of course..).
fgm Posted June 20, 2010 Author Report Posted June 20, 2010 Just an update. I've now bid up to $150 on 4* hotels in the USE, USW, Embarcardero, and SOMA areas with no luck.I also went down to 3.5* and bid up to $100. At this point, it might be better to go with HOTWIRE. On Hotwire, I noticed a 3.5* in Embarcadero for $129 and a 4.5* in USE for $193. Does anyone know what hotels those likely are? Thanks,FGM
yellowdog Posted June 20, 2010 Report Posted June 20, 2010 fgmPlease list the amenties HOTWIRE associates with the hotel you're looking at and we'll have a look at this. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Yellowdog.
