pokepsw Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 Hi BB! I've had a great thread going for another trip to LA (Priceline Santa Monica - thanks for all the help, we're still deciding our options!!!) This new thread is for another trip to the LA area, this time simpler since theres only 2 of us.Monday July 26 - August 2, 20107 NightsWill have a car so need parkingWhat I'm looking for:Most importantly, a great pool area with hot tub/whirlpool/etcModern Hotel, Luxury is nice but not required. Maybe 3.5* or higher for bidding purposes.Relative Proximity to Santa Monica, Downtown, Manhattan Beach, Hollywood - maybe somewhere in the middle? LAX area?I'm really down for anything, as long as it has a nice pool area.On a separate, but related note, I'll be looking for 3 nights in the SD area with the same requirements for July 23-26th.Thanks again in advance! As always, will be using the PRICELINE link from BB or HOTWIRE if it comes down to that!
thereuare Posted June 17, 2010 Report Posted June 17, 2010 I'm really down for anything, as long as it has a nice pool area. You're not going to be ale to ensure a nice pool, or even that the hotel has a pool, when bidding on PRICELINE.I'd start with searching HOTWIRE for the zone(s) you're considering to see if you're able to identify any of the hotels within your budget and desired star rating. If you see anything of interest let us know the details of the offer and we'll try to ID or confirm the property you believe you may be seeing. Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board for your searches/purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Colfax Posted June 17, 2010 Report Posted June 17, 2010 Since you have some particular desires---a modern hotel, a great pool area---you shouldn't use PRICELINE, as you take what you get there. You'll probably find more info on "Which LA hotels have the best pool areas?" on TripAdvisor forums than here. (There's nothing wrong with asking here though.)And don't assume PRICELINE or HOTWIRE will be your best deal. Expedia, Orbitz, Travelocity (and others) all have better deals than HW and PL at times. It's worth searching those too, looking for hotels with high favorable ratings and large pools in the posted pics.I've heard Beverly Hilton has the kind of pool you want. (I haven't stayed there.) But it's sold out your week. Maybe someone else has some suggestions.Anything on HOTWIRE?
