Hi Everyone,

Please help me identify this Hotwire deal:

Glendale/Burbank/Universal City

3*

$83

6/25 - 6/27

Recommended in 90% of customer reviewers

500+ Reviews

Airport Shuttle

Fitness Center

Pool(s)

Restaurant(s)

Laundry Facilities

High-speed Internet Access

The thing that's throwing me off is the 90+% and 500+ reviews.

Thanks,

Stephen

On Tripadvisor, the Holiday Inn Burbank only has a 60% recommendation rate out of 76 reviews. That's what is confusing to me because Hotwire showed 90% recommendation rate out of 500+ reviews...

Okay, to update everyone, I decided to just book on Expedia using an existing $50 coupon I earned from previous trips. Decided on the 2* Ramada Pasadena because of the positive reviews on Tripadvisor. The main reason why I chose Expedia over Hotwire and Priceline was because I couldn't get any reasonable deal at or under 80$ for a 2* or 3* in the LA, Burbank or Pasadena areas during my time frame. So given the security of knowing I'd get Ramada, along with the good reviews, I just decided to use Expedia.

Anyways, thanks for the help. Some reason, the bids aren't working in my favor for my weekend date. Probably due to several large events in LA and Pasadena (Film Festival and IMATS).

I had a similar experience recently. I couldn't ID something on HOTWIRE but I bought it because it had a 90% approval rating. Turned out to be a bad stay. On TripAdvisor the same hotel had 65% approval with many bad reviews...not 90% positive at all.

Percent positive on HOTWIRE and Percent positive on TripAdvisor are two different things. It makes me wonder about those hotels HOTWIRE says have 55% approval rating. Are they 35% on TripAdvisor?
