Priceline Hotel: 4* NYC (ESB) Affinia Dumont

I tried for 2 days for a 4 * hotel in NYC for 2 nights 6/6-6/8/10. ESB up to $240.00; 3* Chelsea up to $210.00; Upper West to $225.00. Finally realized that I was not going to get a hotel for Monday, 6/7/10, so bid for one day, Sunday. First bid of $140.00 in ESB got me the Affinia Dumont. Tried to extend a night :) Priceline once again could not extend at $`140.00 but had a great deal for me at $400.00 a night.

Anyone know what's going on that time to have the prices this high and most hotels filled to the max??

Very nice deal for the Affinia, but sorry to hear that you couldn't extend the deal via PRICELINE - must be a convention or other event going on in NYC for the day/s following.
